Disappointing week for English sport

Wednesday and the England football team throw away a one goal lead to Russia, which means we now need to rely on Israel getting at least a draw with Russia, then we need to beat Croatia, to qualify for Euro 2008.
We then lose the rugby world cup final to South Africa, in a match where we were denied what looked like a perfectly good try, to every English person in the world.
Then Lewis Hamilton only needs to finish the Brazilian grand prix in 5th place to be crowned world champion in his first year, and he only manages 7th, and ends joint runner-up.
We never seem to be able to produce dominant world champions like Michael Schumacher, Lance Armstrong, Pete Sampras, Carl Lewis. We only get the likes of Jenson Button, David Millar, Tim Henman and Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards.
Maybe Lewis Hamilton will do it next year. After all, no rookie driver has ever been world champion in their 1st year, which is why it would of been that bit more special, had he done it this time.
